A QUESTION OF FAITH.

Image result for question of faithMost  religion set down moral codes that say how believers should behave. These rules might  govern how we should treat people and animals. Religious scriptures, or holy books, also tell believers how they should worship, through prayer; fasting or pilgrimage. 

* WHICH MONKS COVER THEIR MOUTHS ? 

Some monks of the Jain religion, in India, wear masks over their mouths. This is because they respect all living things and do not wish to harm or swallow even the tiniest insect that might fly into their mouths.

* WHY DO PILGRIMS GO ?

Pilgrims are religious people who travel to holy places around the world. Muslims try to travel to the sacred city of  Mecca, in Saudi Arabia , at least once in their life time. Hindus may travel to the city of Varanasi, in India, to wash in the holy waters of the River Ganges. Some Christian travel to Bethlehem, the birth place of Jesus Christ.

* WHAT IS THE TAO ?

Pronounced 'dow' it means 'the way'. It is the name given to the belief of the Chinese thinker Lao Zi, who lived about 2500 years ago. Taoists believe in the harmony of the Universe.

WHAT ARE THE FIVE 'K' S ?

Sikh men honour five religious traditions. Kesh is uncut hair, worn in a turban, They carry a Kangha or comb, a Kara or metal bangle, and a Kirpan or dagger. They wear an undergarment called Kaccha.
